Crows are most often the source of agricultural bird problems due to their fondness for corn and other crops, especially when newly planted.
The carrion crow is found throughout England, Wales and most of Scotland while the hooded crow is found in North- west Scotland, Ireland, and the Isle of Man. Their favorite habitat is farmland, open woodland, heaths, coasts, towns and parks. They make their nests in trees made of twigs and earth; they are lined with wool or hair.
Crows have been known to peck the eyes out of new born lambs ! Crows can live for about 13 years in the wild and about 20 in captivity. Magpies tend to seal eggs from other nest even chicken eggs as it is a good source of protein, they can live for about 3 -5 years but records show up to 21 years in extreme cases.

As with any type of hunting, some pre-hunt scouting goes a long way towards boosting a catch.
