Wood pigeons  is the largest of our pigeon and is mostly grey with white stripe on the wings and on the neck. quite easy to identify in the field they also make a clapping sound with their wings when taking to flight.

They will flock in huge numbers and devastate young shoots and plants in hours.They are particularly fond of Oil seed rape, spring barley, peas and beans.

I spend a lot of time just studying pigeons and alike to see what there feeding patterns and flight lines, this can be valuable time spent before setting up any hide.​

decoy patterns and wind direction is just as important to the luring of pigeons.

There food sack between there beak and the pigeons breast con hold quite a large amount of food, times this by three times a day a least and there can consume a vast amount of your profits.  ​

 

Putting out gas guns and a like dont work over time as the birds get use to them.
